Unlike many of those "free" Internet sites, Galves doesn't publish retail values. We do not believe there
is enough reliable information regarding actual retail transaction prices to publish valid retail pricing. What a dealer "asks" for a
car and what a consumer "pays" for a car can be thousands of dollars apart. Therefore, basing retail values on "asking prices" can be
very misleading. And our experience has been that finding out the final prices paid for vehicles is not such an easy task.
The difficulty in getting actual transaction price information is further complicated by other variables that can affect retail sales,
including: cost of reconditioning, extent of warrantee, cost of advertising, any special financing, any certification, etc. Much of the
suggested retail pricing found on the Internet tends to be unrealistic. How often have you seen ads showing "Thousands Below Retail"? How accurate
or realistic can these retail numbers be if dealers are discounting off of them so heavily? We have learned to be skeptical of
"retail" values, and so should you.
There is, on the other hand, a great deal of accurate information
on which to base wholesale values. Since retail pricing is primarily
based on the wholesale transaction, knowing a 'true' wholesale value
is the best place to start thinking about what is fair retail pricing.
That's what Galves provides and as always, you can trust us for
the most up-to-date and accurate pricing information available.
