About Our Handheld Applications

          How do I download the application?
           Click on the appropriate "Download" icon above (Palm or PocketPC). Make sure your PDA is
           hooked up to your PC then simply follow the onscreen prompts. Palm users will need to perform
           a HotSycn operation after downloading to transfer the application to their device.

          What does the download contain?
           The download includes the full-working version of the PocketPC or Palm application.
           It will run on your device for 14 days.         

          Are the Galves values displayed?
           Yes, the Galves values are clearly displayed but please note the values shown are based on
           Galves data that is a few months old. The free download version does NOT contain current
           Galves values.

         How do I get the current values?
           Contact us at 1-877-654-2583 after you have installed the application on your device. You will
           need to provide us with the "Reg Code" that is on your device so we can in turn give you the
           "unlock code" that will allow you to update the values on the device.

          Once I've "unlocked" my device how do I update and get the
        most current Galves values?
           It's easy!
           Palm users simply need to HotSync their device with a PC that has Internet access and
           the update will be delivered automatically.
           PocketPC users should connect their device to a PC with Internet access and then simply tap
           the "Data" menu on the lower left hand corner of the screen then  tap "Update Data" and then
           "Update".

          I don't currently have a PDA, can I purchase one from Galves?
           Yes, we have a limited supply of PocketPC devices with our application already loaded. They are
           available at  a special introductory price and come with a 30 day money-back guarantee.

          If I plan on purchasing a device on my own, do you have any
        recommendations as to what device is best?
         We suggest you purchase a device that best suits your needs. If you plan on running
           several applications we recommend getting a device with more RAM (memory).
           The Galves application requires approximately 9MB of RAM. We also recommend
           PocketPC devices that have a "Compact Flash" slot if you plan on adding an optional
           VIN scanner to your device. Please note that VIN scanning is an "Optional" feature and
           the purchase of a scanner is NOT be required to run the application. VIN decoding is
           only available in our PocketPC application- it is NOT available in our Palm application.

           As far as whether to purchase a Palm device or a PocketPC device- we obviously think
          either one is fine but would note that the Galves application for the PocketPC has a
           slight advantage over the Palm in terms of display options and overall appearance. If you have no
           personal preference, we would recommend going with the PocketPC device.

           If you are considering a Palm device, we would like to point out that
          the Tungsten T5 is not recommended since the Galves
           application consumes a very large portion of available memory on this device.
